MONOCORAT® is a coronary vasodilator, it is effective in the treatment of chronic congestive heart failure (to improve exercise tolerance and reduce sublingual nitrate requirements) in combination with cardiac glycosides, diuretics, ACE inhibitors and other arterial vasodilators.
The main objective for the use of isosorbide mononitrate is the prophylaxis and long-term treatment of angina pectoris in coronary artery insufficiency, causing an improvement in exercise tolerance in stable angina.
It is also effective in treating pulmonary hypertension.
Properties: Isosorbide mononitrate is an organic nitrate and as such has a vasodilator action in both arteries and veins. It is the main active metabolite of isosorbide dinitrate and most of the clinical activity of dinitrate is attributed to mononitrate. The main pharmacological action of isosorbide mononitrate is the relaxation of vascular smooth muscle and the consequent dilation of the peripheral arteries and veins, mainly the latter. The dilation of the veins promotes peripheral venous stasis and decreases venous return to the heart. Arteriolar relaxation reduces systemic vascular resistance, systemic arterial pressure, and central arterial pressure. Dilation of the coronary arteries can also occur. The onset of action of oral isosorbide mononitrate is not so rapid as to abort an acute anginal episode.
Since 1975 this drug has shown a reduction in ST segment depression as an increase in exercise tolerance. Its effectiveness has been widely proven. The exercise tolerance of patients with severe angina pectoris and coronary artery insufficiency (confirmed by angiography) was markedly increased. This effect could easily be verified by reducing the depression of the ST segment four hours after the administration of 20 mg of 5-mononitrate. Treatment with 40 mg of the same would show a reduction in depression in said segment 4 to 6 months after starting treatment. This reduction was reported in several studies as 50 to 75%.

We offer the guarantee that your product will have at least 10 months of use at the time of sale, however most of the drugs we sell have an expiration date greater than 1 to 2 years
